March 26th is National Science Appreciation Day, and we took a visit to the University of Nevada, Reno, Planetarium, where you can explore the cosmos and embrace the beauty of discovery. In the video above, Paul McFarlane, director of the Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center, describes the only planetarium in the world built in the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid – like a potato chip! UNR’s planetarium was the first in the world to showcase 360-degree projected movies in its full-dome theater. Go for a visit someday soon!
